Lives & works in Edinburgh, UK
Li Luo is a painting, textile and mixed media artist currently based in the UK. Working with textiles, embroidery, painting materials and found objects, her practice explores the relationship between nature, philosophy and human experience.
Rooted in the Daoist concept of wu wei (effortless action), Li is interested in how invisible philosophical ideas can be translated into visual and tactile forms. She sees nature as a universal language that transcends cultural, ethnic and social differences. Although people are shaped by different histories and traditions, we all exist within the same natural world and share a common origin and destiny.
Through slow, intuitive processes and the transformation of overlooked materials, Li creates works that make abstract ideas tangible, inviting viewers to reflect on the connections between humanity, nature and the unseen forces that shape our lives.
