I am Li Luo, a Chinese contemporary painting, textiles and mixed media artist based in Edinburgh.

My practice explores the relationship between material, memory and nature through textile sculpture, embroidery, painting and experimental making. Working with reclaimed textiles, natural fibres and found materials, I transform everyday objects into tactile works that carry traces of time, personal experience and cultural memory.

Inspired by Eastern philosophy, the rhythms of the natural world and the quiet beauty of imperfection, I see making as a process of observation, transformation and healing. Every stitch, layer and material becomes part of an ongoing conversation between the human body and the environment.

Through my work, I invite viewers to slow down, look closely and rediscover the extraordinary hidden within ordinary materials.
